I'm not a coffee drinker so that alone means I don't go to coffee shops too often. But I do meet friends there occasionally. And I do really like their green tea. I love the name Bernadette. I may have to start calling you that...but I like the name Catherine too.

Interesting about the origin of the name. I thought it might be from Moby Dick.

That's funny about the Starbucks name generator. The next time I go to a Starbucks, which won't be soon, I'm going to use a pseudonym -- maybe Bernadette, my confirmation name. I probably won't get confused with anyone else! (I've been thinking about that name lately because I chose it after seeing "The Song of Bernadette," starring Jennifer Jones, who just died.) I've only been to Starbucks a few times when I was desperate for a latte on a trip. Most of these visits were in airports, where the crush of people was so discouraging I decided I wasn't that desperate. Usually, I make my own lattes at home from Cafe Bustelo, which I buy in bulk, enough for a year, so you can see that I don't like a lot of fuss.

You know...I just can't wrap my mind around Starbucks. I certainly have bought (and probably will continue to buy) coffee from their store but I just don't get the infatuation with that place. I have certainly had better coffee at more local shops but there is just something about that crisp white sign on the corner which draws people in. I wonder if we'll see 15 million 15th Ave. Coffees around now? =)
