Hey Marly, this would have been the best interview of Michael Jackson ever! Unfortunately, not so many people are as sweet and thoughtful as you-not even... I love him by the way. And I hope the negative rumors aren't true. Even if they are though, I know his pain would have been what caused any fall in moral judgement towards himself others. Poor Michael-so tortured from the get go...
p.s. If I could have a selfish dream come true, I would be able to dance and control my body like the one and only Michael Jackson!

I love your questions, and the same thing can be asked of many celebrities today. I hate the tabloid style interviews, and the myopic questions that pepper just about all interviews today. They are so banal and boring and crap, really. And Bashir pissed me off right during his alleged 'expose' that he did back in the day. I'm not a violent person, but I wanted to punch him for pandering to the tabloids. Whew.

Marly:
I have loved Michael Jackson since dancing to "ABC" in 7th grade!! Such great questions, and I would love to hear Michael's answers--especially number 12--from his perspective *today* !!!

Wow Marly! Great job on the interview questions. Those were, seriously, some of the most insightful questions I've ever read and now I wish MJ was still alive to answer them. He certainly was an incredible talent and a victim of his circumstances. I doubt there will ever be another musical genius who can even come close to reaching the levels that MJ did. The future has lost out in not knowing, first-hand, the music of Michael Jackson.
Great post! :)

I think there are probably quite a few journalists kicking themselves for not asking questions like this and instead heading right for the jugular and the flavour of the day garbage. Looking back they must be saying to themselves why didn't I take the opportunity to ask the meaningful questions, how his experiences translated into his music and his creations etc., how he was able to touch so many lives with his talent. Unfortunately the almighty buck rears his head and we are left reading the same old on every news piece in a different variation. Great post Marly!

What a wonderful list of questions you've prepared. I think you'd be a wonderful interviewer. I'm not a fan of Michael Jackson, but realize what a huge impact he made on music and his generation. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary

Marley,
You are a thoughtful person, and you would be an amazing interviewer. The depth of your questions and your writing is evident each time I visit your blog. I agree that many celebrities (MJ included) are bombarded with thoughtless and myopic questions that cater to the tabloid culture. This list of questions is just the opposite, and I wish he was still alive to answer them!

Haven't had the opportunity to see the movie yet but after your review I probably will. Your correct about Bashir, it was the same when he interviewed the late Princess Diana, he was only interested in the tabloid red top side of things.
