Hi Queenie - It's hard for me to tell what happened with that crust. I've made this several times and haven't had any problems with it. This is one part of the recipe that would be the same whether it was vegan or not. I was using organic, natural peanut butter. I guess it's possible that might have made the difference. I do usually allow the crust to cool a few minutes before taking them out of the pan. That said, I've had a recipe here or there that didn't turn out to look like what I wanted...but usually tastes fine. Hopefully that's the case for you.

well I allowed them to completely cool, but when I popped them out again it just fell apart. Did I do something wrong? the graham cracker crust is soggy and didn't hold.

I suppose to leave them to cool completely before popping them out? I let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes and the bar just completely feel apart. should i stick them in the oven for a little longer?

My grandmother used to make these and they became a family tradition. There were called Holiday Magic Cookie Bars and the recipe came right off the package of one of the ingredients--I think it was the can of sweetened condensed milk. Other than the cow's milk it was exactly the same as these. Thanks for showing it can be done vegan!

This is the first recipe I've seen in a long time that didn't list real butter. After a quick look through the rest of the post...I figured out why. It's not matter to me because I'm always looking for a dairy free dessert.
