My new series is called The Name Project, where I do in-person, brief interviews about peoples' names along with my photograph of them. Names are my inspiration and I hope to share with you photographs of a variety of people and some fun stories about their names.
Today's interview is with Andrea. Everyone should be so lucky to have an Andrea in their life, especially this one. She likes to call a spade a spade, so to speak, which is not an uncommon trait for people sharing this name. Roy Feinson says that Andrea's, "consider themselves to be realists (rather than pessimists) who are simply being candid about the state of the world...they feel it is their duty to tell the truth."
Andrea's truth? Names just are what they are!

My latest Namely Marly podcast is with celebrated author and photographer, Karen Walrond. She authors a blog, Chookoloonks, where she parallels her stunning photography with her powerful words of insights about life. She is a contributor to the book Expressive Photography: A Shutter Sisters' Guide to Shooting from the Heart. And she’s even appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show talking about motherhood. I’m constantly meeting people with names. I wonder why that is. And oftentimes I find myself meeting people with names I find really intriguing. Well, usually, that’s most of the time, because I really love names. It’s why I started my name interview series, Namely People. But recently I was inspired to start a new series of interviews. I’m calling it The Name Project, a new venture on the Namely Marly site where I do in-person interviews, featuring my photographs of the people I’m interviewing. And the final distinguishing factor?
